Musica -10- in "L’arte della verberazione" 24/5/2021
British Invasion: questa volta elencherò i più importanti (e più genuini esponenti di quella esportazione della musica inglese avvenuta dopo il successo dei Beatles tra il 64 ed il 67 e che prende il nome di “British Invasion” e che ebbe una grande influenza sulla nascita del “Progressive Rock” nel mondo e della “Garage Band” in USA.
I Rolling Stones li tratterò a parte.

Questi sono i più importanti rappresentanti del nuovo rock, ma fanno parte dell’invasione i generi rock/pop/blues/folk più diversi, anche gruppi psichedelici come Deep Purple, cantanti come Petula Clarck, Cilla Black, Tom Jones e Donovan, o gruppi più folk/pop come Hollies, e new blues come i Moody Blues e Cream e blues tradizionale come John Mayall, Spencer Davis Group e Manfred Mann. Molti dei gruppi minori che invasero con i loro dischi gli USA esistevano già da tempo come Zombies, Herman Hermits, Dave Clark Five, Gerry & Peacemakers, Peter and Gordon, Freddie and the Dreamers, Mindbenders, Creation, alcuni, come i Searchers addirittura dagli anni ’50, alcuni facevano parte di filoni diversi come Mod e Merseybeat. Quasi tutti questi gruppi in quegli anni piazzarono almeno una loro hit tra le top ten USA.
